Hi I'm Mark from Cosy Coats.
Cosy Coats is a fledgling charity in its fourth year of operation. We work with schools to provide warm, fashionable and brand new coats to children who would otherwise not have one for the winter. We do this because we are aware that some children come into school freezing cold and wet and this affects their learning and health. This winter in particular, many of these children may possibly go back to unheated homes.
We try not to rely on second hand coats or hand-me-downs because we believe that children deserve something new and something fashionable that they can be proud to wear in front of their peers. Many people will know the self-esteem that comes with wearing a brand new item of clothing of your own.
This year, we want to reach more schools than last year and also provide warm footwear where possible (as we did last year too). We have set up a pop-up shop at Birmingham New Street station from 3rd October to 7th October to sell coats that will go directly to children, once sold and raise funds. We have also secured some very kind corporate sponsorship for the shop. (Our sincere thanks to Isio Pensions Management, Intuitive Recruitment Solutions and The Pathway Academy).
Every penny raised will go to buy warm garments for children. The very small amount of overheads that the charity has are covered by our founder.
We would be very grateful for any donation that you can spare. Thank you for any amount you can give to us. And thank you for reading this page.
