HOLLOW – SHORT FILM
 
FILM SYNOPSIS
Driven by curiosity and pursuit for justice, Hayley, a young journalist, accidentally stumbles into a new world. Surrounded by a species of magical forest nymphs, she soon discovers that here, humans are the enemy. A captive and across enemy lines, Hayley becomes a powerful tool in the battles to come. Will she escape her captors and find her way home, or will she accept the call?
 
Blending realism with fantasy, Hollow is a gritty thriller with a moral core. Ultimately it’s about protecting what you love, working together and reconnecting with nature.
 

OUR STORY
We’re a female-driven production team (Chimera Storm Productions), composed of three young actors – Kathleen, Rosie and Rose. Dedicated to quality – both in content and overall product – we decided to create something that we’d love to watch ourselves. More than that, our concept was influenced by the deteriorating state of our environment and our collective role in redeeming it. It’s a message that underpins the entire short film, and what drives us to create it. As women we’re also interested in portraying three-dimensional and hugely contrasting female characters.
 
 
WHY SHOULD YOU INVEST
Hollow is a great story that tackles universal themes relating to the environment, power, passion and capitalism. Through the combined genres of fantasy/thriller, our message will be told in a compelling way, grounding itself in substance without being didactic. Your donations will allow us to establish a believable and vivid world through detailed costume and makeup. Being able to capture our story on quality lenses is also a priority. Any additional money will be directed towards post-production in order for us to execute it all in the final edit, along with any potential special effects.   
 
In a time where so much content is derivative or re-hashed, we believe it’s important to deliver something fresh and meaningful.
 

PLANS FOR PROJECT
Firstly we want to produce the best short film we can. After that, we intend to submit the project into festivals. Our wider goal however, is to use this as a short film for a wider concept that can be extended upon.
