URGENT APPEAL: HOMES & DONATIONS NEEDED
My name is Emily Greene. I am urgently seeking donations and safe homes for 3 puppies: Cielo, Shiloh, and Angel. They are only 2 months old, all females, and I must find them homes by November 1st, the same day I have to move after being evicted by my landlord because of these puppies.

The Situation
These little ones appeared, frightened and hungry, on Sunday, September 21st, on the land where I rent an apartment in Nuevo San Juan, Todos Santos. The puppies crawled under the fence looking for safety and hid beneath my landlord´s VW bus. For 24 hours the three pups stayed there, terrified. I tried to approach them and they were so afraid of human touch that they repeatedly ran from me. I sent a Whatsapp post to the Whatsapp group, Pets: Lost and Found asking for help, and I also informed my landlord. I rent an apartment from him on a fenced parcel of land with four independent apartments. On Monday, my landlord came and was very upset about the puppies on his land. He told me they were my responsibility and that I had to find a home for them by Friday, September 26th, or he would send them back out on the street to fend for themselves.
On Monday, September 22nd, a very kind woman named Julie, replied to my post and agreed to take the husky-looking pup. At that point, I hadn´t had contact with any of the pups as they were hiding under the van and terrified. I tried many times but they ran from one side to the other and I could not catch them. But because Julie agreed to take one of the pups, I made it my mission to catch her and the other two and give them shelter in a kennel I had built for my own three dogs (all rescues from Mexico).
I dropped off the husky-looking puppy at Julie´s place on Monday night. Things are going well and she lovingly named her Fina, after the sugar brand, because of her sweetness. I informed my landlord that one of the pups found a home. My landlord said, ´Muy bien ya vamos por dos (Very good, now we are down to two).
By Monday night, I had two remaining pups, but on Tuesday morning, a third blondie pup showed up on the property. She was skinny and terribly frightened, but I managed to catch her and place her in the kennel with the other two. That same day I discovered they had foul-smelling, watery diarrhea that attracted swarms of flies. I immediately contacted our local vet, Gabriela, who rushed over and tested them for parvovirus, a deadly disease. Julie also brought Fina over to have the tests and get medicine. Thankfully the tests were negative, although they did test positive for canine coronavirus, which is less serious but still requires electrolytes and probiotics. Gabriela gave them deworming medicine. I gave them measured portions of Bravecto and have been nursing them back to health with probiotics and electrolytes. Slowly their stools are getting firmer, and there are fewer and fewer flies around them.
Abandoning animals in Mexico is against the law, and against conscience. I could not let that happen.
This is the part of the criminal code that stipulates that:
Criminal Code for the State of Baja California Sur
Title XXV – Crimes Against Domestic Animals
Article 386 – Mistreatment of Domestic Animals
Anyone who unlawfully commits acts of mistreatment or cruelty against a domestic animal, with the intention of causing it pain or suffering, will be subject to a penalty of six months to two years in prison and a fine of one hundred to two hundred days of salary.
The same penalty will apply to anyone who abandons a domestic animal in conditions where its life or integrity is at risk, regardless of whether they are the owner.
But yesterday (Friday, Sept 26th) tensions with my landlord exploded. He evicted me and I must move by November 1st. With my own 3 rescue dogs, it is impossible to find housing for six. These puppies must have safe homes by then.

LLAMADO URGENTE: SE NECESITAN HOGARES Y DONACIONES
Mi nombre es Emily Greene. Estoy buscando con urgencia donaciones y hogares seguros para 3 cachorras: Cielo, Shiloh y Angel. Tienen solo 2 meses de edad, todas son hembras, y debo encontrarles hogar antes del 1 de noviembre, el mismo día en que debo mudarme tras ser desalojada por mi arrendador a causa de estas perritas.

La situación
Estas pequeñas aparecieron, asustadas y hambrientas, el domingo 21 de septiembre, en el terreno donde rento un departamento en Nuevo San Juan, Todos Santos. Las cachorras se arrastraron bajo la cerca buscando seguridad y se escondieron debajo de la combi de mi arrendador. Durante 24 horas permanecieron allí, aterradas. Intenté acercarme a ellas, pero tenían tanto miedo al contacto humano que huían una y otra vez. Publiqué un mensaje en el grupo de Whatsapp Pets: Lost and Found pidiendo ayuda, y también informé a mi arrendador. Vivo en un terreno cercado con cuatro departamentos independientes. El lunes, mi arrendador vino y se molestó mucho al ver a las cachorras en su propiedad. Me dijo que eran mi responsabilidad y que debía encontrarles un hogar antes del viernes 26 de septiembre, o las volvería a echar a la calle a valerse por sí mismas.
El lunes 22 de septiembre, una mujer muy amable llamada Julie respondió a mi publicación y aceptó quedarse con la perrita de apariencia husky. Hasta ese momento, yo no había tenido contacto con ninguna de ellas, ya que estaban escondidas bajo la combi y aterradas. Traté muchas veces, pero corrían de un lado a otro y no lograba atraparlas. Sin embargo, como Julie aceptó a una, me propuse atrapar a las tres y darles refugio en una perrera que construí para mis tres perros rescatados.
Esa misma noche llevé a la perrita tipo husky a casa de Julie. Todo va muy bien y con mucho cariño la llamó Fina, por su dulzura. Informé a mi arrendador de que una ya había encontrado hogar. Él respondió: “Muy bien, ya vamos por dos”.
Para el lunes en la noche, me quedaban dos cachorras, pero el martes por la mañana apareció una tercera perrita rubia en la propiedad. Estaba flaca y muy asustada, pero logré atraparla y ponerla en la perrera con las otras dos. Ese mismo día descubrí que tenían diarrea acuosa con mal olor que atrajo enjambres de moscas. Inmediatamente contacté a nuestra veterinaria local, Gabriela, quien vino de urgencia y les hizo pruebas de parvovirus, una enfermedad mortal. Julie también trajo a Fina para hacerle la prueba y darle medicamento. Afortunadamente los resultados fueron negativos, aunque sí dieron positivo a coronavirus canino, que es menos grave pero requiere electrolitos y probióticos. Gabriela les dio desparasitante. Yo les administré dosis medidas de Bravecto y las he estado cuidando con electrolitos y probióticos. Poco a poco sus heces se están normalizando y cada vez hay menos moscas alrededor.
Abandonar animales en México es ilegal y es una crueldad. No podía permitir que eso sucediera.

Título XXV – Delitos contra los animales domésticos
Artículo 386 – Maltrato de animal doméstico
A quien ilícitamente realice actos de maltrato o crueldad contra un animal doméstico, con la intención de ocasionarle dolor o sufrimiento, se le impondrá una pena de seis meses a dos años de prisión y una multa de cien a doscientos días de salario.
La misma pena se aplicará a quien abandone a un animal doméstico en condiciones en que peligre su vida o integridad, sin importar si es el propietario o no.
Pero ayer (viernes 26 de septiembre) la tensión con mi arrendador explotó. Me desalojó y debo mudarme antes del 1 de noviembre. Con mis tres perros rescatados es imposible encontrar vivienda para seis. Estas cachorras deben tener hogares seguros antes de esa fecha.

Elegí poner sus vidas por encima de mi propia comodidad, incluso cuando puse en riesgo mi seguridad y mi vivienda, porque la vida importa. Sus vidas importan.
