Link needs our help

Life is full of highs and lows, but when you are experiencing a mental health condition those moments can fill your heart and mind with despair. For those of us who know Kevin “Link” Carlin, it’s hard to imagine him in any other state than joy and happiness. But in November, Link was silently suffering from a severe case of depression, brought on by Bipolar 2 Disorder. Not wanting to burden his friends and family, Link suffered in isolation until a mental break landed him in the hospital, followed by a recovery center and now, therapy and psychiatric assistance.
The great news is, Link is receiving the support and medication he needs to improve his mental health. Instead of isolating themself, Link has been surrounding himself with friends every day of recovery. He’s returned to work where he finds joy in making others smile and laugh. While the days are becoming brighter for our friend, a cloud looms in the form of medical bills.
We are all aware of the shortcomings of modern healthcare and insurance, especially when it relates to mental health care. Currently, costs for recovery sit at $20,000 and that number will likely climb as Link continues to get the assistance he needs. As mentioned before, Link never wants to be someone’s burden, so we’re stepping up as friends to share the load. It’s the least we can do for a man who has given so much of himself to make our lives more joyful.
From Del Mar to Park City, Link’s infectious smile has impacted each and every one of us. Now, it’s our opportunity to give back. We invite all of you to join us in this effort. Let’s pull together and donate what we can so that Link won’t have to fight alone.
If you are unable to donate, you can still give back! Link is looking to connect with more friends, so if you would like to spend some time with him, give him a call or shoot him a text
