On March 7th at 10:00 AM, our family lost a deeply loved and important member of our family—our grandfather. He passed away after bravely fighting lymph node cancer that had spread throughout his body. His passing came as a heartbreaking shock to us. We had recently been told he had about nine months left last week , so this loss was very unexpected and our family was not prepared for how quickly things would change.

He passed away in Portland, Oregon. Our family had hoped to bring him home to Toledo to be buried, but unfortunately the cost of transporting him home is far greater than we are able to afford. Because of this, we are now trying to give him a proper burial in Portland.

As a Catholic family, it is very important to us that he receives a traditional burial, as we do not believe in cremation. We are asking for help raising $5,400 to help cover the cost of a casket and a burial site so we can lay him to rest with the dignity and respect he deserves.

Our grandfather fought a long and brave battle, and he was such a big and important part of our family. Losing him has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.
