Help Rebuild a Life: Support Lenna to overcome homelessness!

All donations will be used to help me purchase a travel trailer to live in.

I would like to start out by saying, publicly asking for help is not an easy thing for me to do and might be one of the most humiliating things ive ever done. But I am desperate and don’t know what else to do. 2024 was the hardest experience I’ve ever been through. I lost everything, my home, my car, my daughter, myself, and almost took my life as well.

In September, I set out for change and a fresh start in Oklahoma. I had been promised a car, a home, a chance to work, and go back to school. Unfortunately, I was misled. Let down and ashamed, I came back to California. Prior to leaving Oklahoma, I reached out to my mother, whom I have been estranged from. Though not easy, I asked her for help. She offered for me to come stay with her and we would work everything out. I believed I was finally going to be able to repair our relationship and possibly even have Thanksgiving together as well. I was so wrong. As history repeated itself, She took back her offer of me staying with her an hour before arrival. I was officially homeless, with two dogs, no money, no car, no food.

Since then, I have bounced from five different houses in four different counties. I cannot find a safe and stable place long enough to even make it to a job interview. Thankfully, I have had some really great friends who have helped me through this, making sure that my dogs and I are fed and okay. But now I am to a point where I am literally going to be on the streets. Within days away from being outside in the cold. Every time I think things are looking up… I’m packing my belongings back in trash bags and moving.

Thankfully today, I was offered an opportunity to purchase a travel trailer. I desperately need a safe and stable home. I am supposed to start a new job any day now as well. I’m terrified being homeless is going to hinder this job opportunity. Many have told me that I would probably have better chances of finding someone to offer me a place to stay if I rehomed my dogs. That is absolutely out of the question. These dogs are more than just dogs for me. They are my family and have been by my side through everything. They are the reason I have continued this far. I need them more than they need me. I understand it makes my situation more difficult, but I can’t imagine my life without them.

So I am here asking for help. I would be incredibly grateful for any amount of generosity. My birthday is tomorrow and I can’t think of a better gift besides making my daughter proud, than a home.
