Thank you for your contributions and your continued support during this very difficult time. It is clear that Takeia has touched many lives. As you can see, we have surpassed our initial goal of $15,000. With the additional funds that continue to come in, a scholarship will be established in her honor for the Black Law Student’s Association at the DePaul University College of law. During her time at DePaul, Takeia was active in the organization and served as president.

As many of you know, Takeia has long worked to promote educational equity and access. This scholarship aims to honor her legacy, ensuring that even after her passing, she is able to continue the work that she was so dedicated to throughout her life. I am now turning this fund over to Tanya Davis, Takeia's Sister. She, along with the rest of Takeia’s family, plan to use your generous donations to honor her in this way.
