Josh has an eye condition called keratoconus.  He had his first surgery in April and it went well.  Now he needs to have the surgery on his second eye.  With the first campaign, we raised enough money for his first surgery and some doctor visits.  We are very grateful to everyone for the help.  We are again asking for contributions for the second surgery.  We will schedule it as soon as possible.  The cross-linking on the first eye went well, the doctor said his eye looks good and he is very optimistic.  His vision is improving and will continue to improve over time.

Josh graduated high school and has been working full-time at Saver's thrift store.  He is looking at other job possibilities.  He is looking at career paths. Josh is an out-going, very social young man.  He loves to hike, rock climb, long board, play the guitar, and hang-out with friends.
Josh developed a degenerative eye condition called keratoconus.  Keratoconus is coning of the cornea.  The cornea thins and bulges into a cone shape causing distorted vision. This condition has seriously affected his vision.  Josh is in need of a procedure to stop this progression.  This proceedure is called collagen cross-linking.  Cross-linking is a combination of removing the surface cells of the cornea, riboflavin drops, and ultra-violet light.  The cross-linking procedure adds cross-links in the cornea, making it more stable.  These new cross-links help strengthen the cornea, which stops the thinning process and further loss of vision.

The cost of this procedure is $1,750 per eye.  Josh recieved the procedure on one eye, now needs the procedure on the other eye.  With the costs of this procedure and doctor exams the total would be around $2350.
We don't have insurance and the FDA has not approved  the procedure, so no funding is available.  We could really use help with funds for these special procedures.  This condition is time sensitive.  We could use funds as soon as possible before Josh's vision degenerates any more with time.  We have already waited too long trying to come up with the money on our own and we were not able to raise the funds.  It is hard to ask for help, but we don't want Josh to have to wait any longer.  For Josh to have this cross-linking procedure for this eye condition would mean so much to us.  We would be so grateful for any help given.
