Hi friends and friends of friends. I have been on this medical journey with my sister Ashley for over a year and a half now. In spring of 2023 Ashley was having some medical issues that led her to a common hysterectomy. She unfortunately suffered from medical mal practice and a botched hysterectomy which has led her to have 9 subsequent surgeries and procedures over the last 27 months. She has been unemployed since summer 2023 because of the state of her health and has been in and out of hospitals hoping for some sort of normal. Some of surgeries have included removing a majority of her descending colon with injury to her uretor, and also a complex bypass stomach surgery due to a collapse of an artery over her intestine. More recently she had a hernia removed from her stomach from a complication from the bypass and is still trying to heal her wound. She’s been wearing a wound vac since the March surgery. At present she is very limited in her mobility.
Praises:
God has been so good and I have seen him work in amazing ways. He is refining all of us through this and teaching us to be a living sacrifice for our precious loved one.
praise God for provisions:
- the hospital Medical City Plano where she’s been over a dozen times and completed 3 surgeries has covered her expenses 100% through a charity
- theyve given her the wound vac to use
- She is eating solid foods now
- another clinic is prescribing a pricey medicine for free
- Her current surgeon has officially diagnosed her condition and written a letter naming all her limitations to the disability - expediting the process!
- she continues to trust the Lord, and praise his name through all of this- seeing his hands and purpose in her situation
We are hopeful the disability will be more expedited and be processed in the next few months!! This will give her transportation, medical assistance and some better financial “independence.”
Needs:
Because she’s currently being treated from a surgery from an infected wound, it requires weekly costly visits to the wound doctor and other associated costs.
- financial assistance: medical supplies and doctor’s visits, transportation,
- prayers for wound healing
- Physical strength to increase as well as endurance through painful visits at the wound doctor
- mental strength to keep hoping for healing
- disability to be approved quickly
Thank you for your care and support!
