Tina Runice is a mother of three. Jess, Jennifer, and Jason Runice. A grandmother of 6. She is 51 years young. March 5th, 2015 she suffered from a brain stem stroke. She was airlifted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. There she was in the ICU for 8 days. She overcame the odds. Surviving with Locked In Syndrome (LIS). This diagnosis is a very rare condition with a low survival rate. She has lost her motor skills and unable to communicate at this point. There are cases where there have been survivors with her diagnosis and they have partial recovery and able to communicate. Their stories are true miracles. Our family is reaching out to anyone that can help with raising funds for the transportation and her first 45 days of care until her out of state insurance is effective. It is 4,100 to medically transport her and 5,900 for her 45 days of care. She has been in a hospital setting for the past 6 months and we have tried every method to find a way to overcome the insurance differences from state to state medical coverage. We want our mother to be in a home setting with her family rather than a nursing home facility. If she resides in a facility they are not going to offer her rehabilitative care and every place we have contacted in her area have never cared for a patient like her. They do not have the proper resources and when she is transported there are many recources and programs that offer rehabilitative services.
Tina Runice is a Christian and has always had the gift to help others. She has been a very valuable member in society. She worked as a Drug and Alcohol counselor for over 18 years. Her passion is helping others overcome life challenges or even reach out to those who were in need of advice and support. She graduated from University of Wisconsin -LaCrosse with her Masters in Psychology and had future goals of completing her Doctorate. Our mother is a very important person in our lives and we are doing anything possible to have her home with us and help her with rehabilitating so she can be another miracle story for someone to have hope!!!! God bless and thank you for hearing our story!! Keeping our mother and family in your prayers is also greatly appreciated!!!!!!!
