On February 18th, 2016, Kenneth received some terrible news regarding his health. What we thought was a simple cut on the tongue, snowballed into something much, much bigger. LEUKEMIA. At 37 years old Kenneth was diagnosed with a rare aggressive case of ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) with a positive "PH" (Philadelphia). Kenneth is up against the fight of his life.
Not to long ago, Kenneth's mom and dad was also diagnosed with cancer. Mom was laid to rest in 2012 and just a year after dad was laid to rest alongside his soulmate.
We know first hand that Kenneth is a resilient, hardworking man who takes a great responsibility for his family and is also a great friend. He left his job as a Sous Chef at The Old Lahaina Luau after 16 years to be a head cook at Wailuku Elementary School just so he can be a father to his girls Kaylee (5) & Cali (19) and to be there for his fiancé Crystal.
He is currently undergoing extensive chemotherapy and awaiting to find a bone marrow match. We are raising money to help pay for his living, travel, and medical expenses that may incur during his treatment and recovery at The City of Hope in California.
