Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre
Donation protected
After a lifetime of dreaming about visiting the orangutans in Borneo, my dream is finally coming true. In May, I will be traveling with a National Geographic wildlife expedition to the Sabah province in Malaysian Borneo where we will visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.
Sadly, these gentle intelligent creatures are now critically endangered and I would like to do everything humanly possible to help. The veterinarians at Sepilok have sent me a detailed list of medications and supplies needed for the 60 - 80 orangutans that are living independently in the reserve and the approximately 25 orphaned orangutans housed in the nurseries.
I will be sharing this adventure with my husband, Kiki, my brother, Bernard, and two friends from Seattle, Jamie Moran and Margaret Bovingdon. We are hoping to collectively raise enough money to purchase an abundance of the requested supplies which we will be able to hand deliver.
If we raise more than our carrying capacity allows, we will partner with the Orangutan Appeal UK to make sure the remainder of the money is allocated to worthwhile projects across Malaysian and Indonesian Borneo.
