Hi, I would like to introduce Isaac Izard, Writer and Director of "Janus II"
Hello, my name is Isaac J Izard. I am an independent filmmaker based out of Los Angeles. I discovered my passion for filmmaking while in high school and have been eager to learn and experiment ever since. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Communication Arts with a focus on Radio, Film, and Television with a certificate in Digital Cinema Production. Since graduating from school, I have continued to seek a deeper understanding of Filmmaking in all of its parts. After many thousands of hours on hundreds of sets, I can say that I have started to get a glimpse of what this medium can offer when it comes to crafting a story.
My film series “Janus” is named after the Roman deity of doorways, time, duality, beginnings, and endings. Through this series of films, I’m exploring both the themes of Janus, but also the wants and desires of a large and diverse cast of characters. Some of the characters may find themselves at odds with one another. Some won’t get what they want. Many won’t survive. In the city of Janus, secrets and might will dominate. Janus II follows a day in the life of a criminal for hire as he determines what it means to be good in a world where morality makes you a liability. Our criminal for hire is named Neon. One of his most well-paying clients: Baby Face, the Mastermind.
Logline: A jaded freelancer finds a piece of his past in his doorway with his latest gig.

"Masculinity. Virtue. Power. Isaac Izard, 23, explores all of these themes – and draws on his personal struggles as a Black man – in his 8-minute sci-fi thriller Asking Nothing of Nobody, which he created after signing up for Greater Together’s new youth mentorship program, Creative Challenge. Working with Walker, Izard learned about the mechanics of filmmaking, from refining a script to boosting morale on a sweltering set. But even more importantly, he learned to believe in the power of his own voice. And he says that he hopes to make more films in the future, and keep “pouring what I am going through” into his work."
Our goal is to send this short film to film festivals, keep making more movies, and find representation for young POC filmmakers.
These funds are going to help feed the crew, location costs, and rental equipment. Anything helps as we finish this short film project!
