Hi!
In 2014 I purchased the Alexandria Bikram Yoga Studio. By 2019 we had 10 employees and we were growing so I expanded into a second space in Falls Church. The merger/expansion was bumpy at first but by the beginning of 2020 we were on fire! Both studios together had over 20 employees and we had produced a profit for the first time EVER! Then the pandemic hit and we went from over 700 members to around 100 in a few weeks.
I will be forever grateful to those students who continued to practice with us virtually and continued to pay their monthly membership. I have no doubt that is one of the reasons we survived during the quarantine.
Sadly our Alexandria studio will not survive from the long-lasting fallout of this pandemic, but I made a large personal investment hoping that it would. Unfortunately the landlord of our building decided not to renew the lease. During the last 21 months, not only have I taken no salary and worked almost every single day, I also incurred an additional $50,000 worth of personal debt to make sure that the rent and the employees were paid on time. I was counting on a long lease to allow me time to rebuild and recover, but I was not given this time.
I sincerely appreciate your consideration to help me recover from the personal investment I made in our yoga studio during the pandemic. Please give what you can. No amount is too small!
Again, thank you.
Love,
Jen
