On the 12/10/25 I'm taking part in the Oxford Half Marathon
If I'm running 13 miles I may as well do some good with it.
Mental health that is normally something that is over looked as it's something that is harder to diagnose and doesn't always have a physical symptom like other reasons to see a doctor.
1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem in any one year. That's not just in their life time that is PER YEAR. there's so many different types of mental health and it is important people get the suitable treatment they need.
Oxfordshire Mind helps over 10,000 people with mental health challenges every year. Which is great but wouldn't it be better if they could help more people. Cause there's long waiting lists and unfortunately a lot of people to see.
They promote good mental health through the provision of high quality services and campaigning for positive change.
Their services include housing, benefits advice, a confidential and free information line, short courses, children & young people support, volunteering opportunities, and they provide over 30 free, friendly, informal peer support groups across Oxfordshire.
With the state of the country as it is (and to be fair the world) there's going to be a lot of mental health difficulties that go untreated and people stuck on waiting lists needing help and not getting it. From discrimination due to race, sexuality, gender or physical ability. The stress of rising prices and struggling to get by, the decrease in job security and just generally looking at the state of things not just now but the steady decline and how low can that go in the future.
Mental health problems are going to effect more and more people so wouldn't it be nice if they didn't have to struggle as much, if there was that support system available to more people cause even if you don't need it chances are someone you know will even if they aren't telling you about it.
So please donate what you can. they do great work. it would be even better if they could help more people with more funding.
