Help Kayla Kick Cancer’s Ass (Again)

Thirteen years ago, Kayla battled and survived a devastating cancer fight.  Her initial diagnosis was Synovial Cell Sarcoma.  Between then and now, she has followed up religiously to ensure she remained healthy and cancer free.  Within the last year, a lump has developed in the same area of the original cancer tumor.  When Kayla made an appointment with her surgeon, it was our hope that she would be just going in for a simple cyst removal, but unfortunately, that was not the case.  During an Intra operative biopsy, it was determined that cancer had returned.  At this time, we are unsure if it a reoccurrence of the Synovial Cell, or if it is a new cancer caused by original radiation treatments.  The next steps with regard to treatment will be determined after final pathology is completed in the next several weeks.  But we do know that an addition invasive procedure will have to take place. 

Kayla is a wife, daughter, sister and a dear friend to many of us and is strong and able to jump into this fight and will not let anything get into the way of her success, or happiness in this life.  She loves her family and friends unconditionally and without prejudice and brings great joy into the lives of others. 

Over the next several weeks and months, Kayla will be traveling to and from Phoenix to Denver for treatments and surgery.  Due to out of pocket expenses, medical devices and medication, high deductibles, travel expenses, we know that the financial burden will be immense. 

That’s where we come in.  Let’s take the financial stress off of Kayla and Brian’s back, as they need to focus all of their energy on fighting this cancer.  What we are asking is for every one to pitch in what they can in the form of donation here.  We are her family, and her friends and we must rally behind her, send her positive thoughts and energy and let’s beat our fundraising goal!
