My name is Mohan, and I am raising funds to continue my Master’s in Social Work in the UK. This journey is deeply personal to me, rooted in my childhood experiences, the community I grew up in, and the dreams I carry for my village in Nepal.
After completing my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) in Nepal, I dedicated four years serving my community, working closely with people who struggled with the same challenges I grew up with — lack of education, limited health support, and very few opportunities. My long-term dream has always been to help change this reality.
To build stronger skills and knowledge, I came to the UK for further studies. I completed my first Master’s degree using all of my savings, believing I could independently continue toward my life goal. But life took an unexpected turn: I lost one of my parents. This loss created a deep imbalance emotionally, financially, and mentally. I am still coping with the impact of it.
Despite everything, I gathered my strength again and enrolled in an MA in Social Work, the course I truly believe is connected to my purpose. I want to complete this degree so I can return to Nepal one day and support my village with educational opportunities and essential health resources—things I myself lacked while growing up.
Recently, I also started a small podcast to share and reflect on the realities of immigrant life abroad. It is a simple, self-created platform, but it means a lot to me because it helps people feel seen and heard.
However, the financial burden has become overwhelming. As an international student at University of Lancashire, my tuition fees are £12,900 per year, and my 2-year program requires a total of £20,000 more to complete. I work part-time and my family helps as much as they can, but right now it is not enough. The stress has started affecting my studies, mental health, and basic daily stability.
Every donation will go directly toward my tuition fees.
I am managing my living expenses through part-time work and limited family support. I am also open to connecting with anyone who can offer a loan, which I will repay in installments once I begin working.
I am not just trying to complete a degree — I am trying to return to my community with the skills and strength to create real change. Your support will not only help me finish my education but will also contribute to the long-term dream of improving education and health access in my village.
I know times are difficult for many people, and even reading my story means more than I can express. If you are able to contribute, share, or simply offer encouragement, it would bring me a step closer to continuing this journey with dignity and hope.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
