Hi, my name is Estefania Silva, I am fundraising for Sofia Lara, my beloved niece.

Sofia is the youngest daughter of my sister Maria Eugenia. She is 5 months old. A few weeks ago she was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis, it is a birth defect in which the bones in a baby's skull join together too early. This happens before the baby's brain is fully formed. We are extremely nervous since a surgery it's always something to worry about but blessed because it has been discovered on time.

Sofia's surgery is set to happen on early November.

Doctors (Pediatric surgeons) are going to break the bones on the left side, place some plates and close them, so the brain will be able to grow normally.

The cost of the surgery is approximately $15,000 USD dollars, it includes:

Hospital (7 days): $4,000 USD

Professional fees: $4,000 USD

UCI/NICU (2 days): $1,000 USD

Reabsorbable micro plates: $4,000 USD

Tests: $2,000 USD

My sister and brother-in-law do not have the money handy to cover all the expenses that's why I am helping them opening this fundraiser.

Sofia is my beloved and precious niece, Sofia and her sister Camila are my babies. I love them so much as my own children.
