Help Ashley pay bills while mom on hospice
Donation protected
My mom has been fighting pancreatic cancer for 2 years. As of June 10, 2022, my mom was released by MD Anderson due to the chemotherapy regimen being exhausted for her diagnosis. Because of her increasing uncontrolled pain, decreased appetite, and big weight loss, MD Anderson no longer thinks the chemotherapy is therapeutic, but toxic for her. She has been released to Hospice. I have taken time out of work to be a caregiver and do the best I can to make her as comfortable as possible. I’m not getting paid my salary because I am out on leave. I am so embarrassed and ashamed that I have to go to this length to ask for help so that I can be able to pay bills including what my mom can’t afford while I care for my mom. I also am currently being seen by a specialist to help me cope and function through this difficult time so that I can try to provide the best care I can for my mom for what time she has left.
Update: My mom requested for a second opinion and revoked hospice recently to be seen one last time. Her local oncologist gave us a very limited opportunity to see if he thinks my mom can handle one more chemo. She had her CT scan completed, but we have to gather enough money to pay what is not covered by her insurance. We were able to give a very small portion, but my mom will be needing to pay the rest in order to stay good with the hospital for future visits if her local oncologist thinks she can restart the last chemotherapy regimen Folfox.
Another item that is pending for my mom is her funeral expenses to cover her memorial.
My mom still has to pay for some medications that are expensive for her to function normally including Creon and Linzess which are expensive.
I am asking for help while I try to find a more stable solution to cover any expenses I am currently unable to provide
