After 13 years of being diagnosed with perinatal cardiomyopathy and not having any issues, our dear Chasitie is now in need of a new heart.

After 9 days in the hospital, Chasitie gets to go HOME tomorrow! She will be leaving with a PICC line with an IV that has a medicine that is helping her heart muscle not pump as hard, which is making her feel so much better, even though her heart rate stays about 115-130 bpm. While high, the doctor says that’s just how damaged her heart is and there’s nothing else they can give her.

The heart failure team has gotten together and she has been approved to go through the heart transplant process. She will have to wait for insurance, and then she will be on the list in about 4-6 weeks at a stage 4. As long as she stays stable with the IV drip at home, she can wait there for her heart transplant.
