Hernia Surgery for Gabriel

Dear Friends,

I am grateful for this life, to be turning 39 today and to have you all in my life in somewhat distant and nearby ways.

The prayer I hold in my heart in this moment in time is to good health, for myself and for everyone on this planet considering the huge amount of suffering we are feeling on a global level, I am not giving life for granted anymore.

I’m turning to you at this moment as I believe it’s time for me to step forward in asking for help. It’s not the easiest as I wish I could cover this surgery myself but I’ve been encouraged from some dear friends that deeply care and want to support me to no longer hold back from reaching out.

The truth is I have had an issue with an inguinal hernia for over 3 years and it’s getting progressively worse. It’s deeply impacting my confidence, sense of self and what I am able to achieve on a daily basis. I’ve realized that I tend to wear a good mask as keeping the smiles up is important to me but honestly it is eroding my quality of life dramatically. I do not come to you lightly or expect anything but would be grateful if you would consider helping me get my surgery to restore my health and self confidence.

After being on the waiting list for 2 years both here and in Italy and not really being given the priority that is needed I have decided to go down the private route and being seen by a hernia specialist as at this stage feels like the best thing to do to speed up the process and also have the type of surgery with the least risks of complications post surgery.

The surgeon in Italy who is a hernia specialist, sometimes charges £12,000 for this particular medical procedure is offering me it for £6000 if I can get the funds within the next month by doing it to a different clinic to keep the costs lower.

After my recent hand injury in November, needing surgery due to nerve damage from a shard of glass and not having being able to work until recently;

Having reached out to family, and having seriously considered my current earnings this is my only option right now.

Anything extra will be supporting for the convalescence period, treatments and travel expenses.

It’s quite hard for me to write more, this is taken a lot to come to the place of asking for help, yet it seems part of the healing process is the ability to receive…

It’s been a tumultuous process to get to this, exposing myself in such way feels extremely vulnerable considering how private I am, and still that needed to be transcended to allow Love to be the ultimate healing force.
