Shay Strong

What started out as a terrible accident, ended up being a blessing! Shay Fuchs (age 5) fell from her bunk bed Thursday night (Jan. 14th, 2021). Her Mother (Holly Frenzel) rushed her to the hospital where they did a CT scan. What they discovered blew everyone away. They found a cancerous (Wilms) tumor on one of her kidneys. She was transported to the U of M Masonic Children's Hospital.  She will start Chemo and Radiation as well this week. So as you can see, her guardian angel has been working overtime. Who knows how long this tumor would have gone undetected?This little girl is a fighter and has a long road ahead of her. She will go through treatment approx 7 months (as far as they know to date).
She has a big sister Riley (age 9) that is so amazing. She will be such a help and comfort for Shay!

I'm sure she has the hospital staff wrapped around those tiny fingers! She is one of those souls that people are drawn to. She can make you laugh by just talking about everyday things. She is an old soul and sometimes the things she comes up with just blows your mind.  She was born to grow up and be something amazing. Her cancer story started out miraculously... Which I believe will also end miraculously!
