Families and friends of Grand Rapids Christian,
Due to the overwhelming support and generosity we are raising the goal from $6,300 to $10,000. This will allow us to offer t-shirts to the greater Grand Rapids Christian Community. Money that is collected beyond the cost of the t-shirts will be given directly to childhood cancer research, in the Haverkamps name, along with student collected donations when t-shirts are handed out. Thank you all for your support and generosity!!
As many of you may know, our dear friend and senior classmate Olivia Haverkamp has been battling Ewing’s Sarcoma for the past 18 months. This past week, in pursuit of quality living, Olivia and her family made the decision to begin hospice care. The Grand Rapids Christian community is in awe of the faith and perseverance demonstrated by the Haverkamps in this time, and we continue to have hope that the Lord will grant a miracle in Olivia, knowing regardless, she is in His hands. In this time, we want to celebrate Olivia. We want to let her and her family know that they have a community supporting them in prayer, and that we’re also striving to bring further awareness to childhood cancer and research. A group of Olivia’s friends and classmates have begun working on T-shirts. We would like to be able to give them to students free of cost, asking for donations when they receive them to go directly to childhood cancer research. So we are asking you to help in two ways:
1. Help differ the $6200 t-shirt cost by providing a donation.
2. At the High School there will be donation boxes. When picking up a t-shirt donate money that will go directly in the Haverkamps name to Childhood Cancer Research.
We can’t do this without your help, please consider donating to this cause to support Olivia and help advance the treatment of childhood cancer.
In Christ,
Ana Mucci, Megan Overvoorde and Leah Van Orman
