Please Help My Family Heal After a Devastating Car Crash

On April 4th, the lives of our family changed forever. My beloved daughter-in-law, Theresa, and my two precious grandchildren, Boston and Mila, were involved in a catastrophic car crash caused by an irresponsible driver who ran a stop sign at a very high rate of speed—in a residential neighborhood. The impact was so severe that their SUV was rolled over and completely totaled.

Theresa and the children were rushed to the hospital by ambulance, and while we are incredibly grateful they are alive, the physical injuries and emotional toll is heartbreaking. Little Mila suffered the most severe injuries as she had to be airlifted to Tampa General Hospital from Jacksonville, FL for emergency reconstructive surgery, and is now facing a long, uncertain road filled with surgeries, extended hospital stays, and extensive rehabilitation. Theresa and Boston are still undergoing evaluations for their injuries, and we are learning more each day about the challenges ahead.

This tragedy has literally turned their world upside down. Along with the injuries, pain, and trauma, the financial strain of what lies ahead is indeed overwhelming. As a grandmother, it’s hard to feel helpless, but I’m doing what I can by asking for help on their behalf. The out of pocket expenses for travel and treatment are already substantial and mounting by the day.

We are therefore raising funds to support:

-Ongoing medical expenses, surgeries, and hospital care

-Transportation and travel costs for out-of-town specialists and care, as Mila’s current surgeons are in Atlanta, GA and they will be needing to travel there frequently with overnight stays in hotels

-Physical therapy and long-term rehabilitation

-Significant lost wages for Theresa and Ryan since the time of the crash

-As well as any future needs or modifications to support their healing journey
