North Bay Animal Services - Disaster Relief

North Bay Animal Services is a progressive, no-kill, non-profit animal shelter in Sonoma County. We provide animal services for the cities of Petaluma, Windsor, Calistoga, Healdsburg, and Cloverdale. Over the past two years, a growing part of our role has been rescuing animals impacted by wildfires and reconnecting them with their families. Our shelter receives no additional compensation for this vital work, even as fires increasingly impact our state every year. In order to continue to serve communities in times of crisis, we have created this GoFundMe campaign.
What does disaster response look like? Recently, our officers spent numerous days in Butte County, helping local agencies respond to fires and evacuations—and often spent nights sleeping in their vehicles. This type of animal rescue is hard and dangerous—transporting animals at all hours, setting up temporary housing for livestock and domestic pets until their families return, ensuring that injured animals receive emergency vet care, and providing daily support for pets left behind in evacuation zones. Though this work was outside of our jurisdiction, the animals impacted by the fire needed us, and we responded.
How will your funds be used? Our goal is to continue to provide immediate deployment as needs arise. Your contributions will make this possible. Funds will be used for fuel, food for animals in need, and other crucial supplies. This work will be in addition to caring for the animals in our shelter and continuing our day-to-day operations as disasters unfold. Your help is needed!

Buying a bag of dog or cat food ($35) or a bale of hay ($20).
