Camp Kotok Milfoil Remediation
Tax deductible
Those who attended Camp Kotok 2022 heard David Montague describe the invasive milfoil threat to the lake system and the Downeast Land Trusts mitigation effort. For those who didn't participate this year, invasive milfoil grows exceptionally rapidly, choking shorelines and wreaking havoc on native ecosystems. Unfortunately, this destructive aquatic weed has found its way to Big Lake and is spreading to the downstream lake system, including Flowage. The Milfoil coalition, of which Downeast Lakes Land Trust is a member, is scheduled to remove 250,000 LBS of milfoil this year. Camp Kotok would like to help with the effort by funding a week of removal. Camp Kotok attendees have a long history of financial involvement in the Grand Lake Stream community. Your generosity will help ensure that we, and those who come after, will continue to enjoy the pristine wilderness and its unique lake system for years to come. Be generous. Our goal is to raise $6,800 that will be applied directly to milfoil removal. Downeast Lakes Land Trust is a 501(c)(3).
