First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you for everything.
I am truly humbled by your support and so grateful for your love and care. There truly are no words that can adequately express how much you have touched my heart and helped to lift my spirits.
I had my second surgery today. It involved the debridement of the first incision. This is a washout surgery, that involves removing all the dead, unhealthy tissue.
They also made an entirely new incision beneath the first one.
They performed drainage on it.
They then, packed both incisions.
My incisions start at my abdomen area, to groin, following my inner thigh and up to my buttocks area.
So, needless to say, I’m in a great deal of pain.
I’m no longer considered to be in the sepsis zone. I am, however, still fighting the infection. They’re managing my fever and I’m still on steady scheduled doses of Vancomycin & Zosyn.
I’m still not able to walk at this point & I’m limited to much of any kind of movement for now.
While I have a long road ahead of me and I’m still not out of the woods so to speak, I am fighting the good fight! It’s definitely been very scary and stressful. There was a point where I didn’t know if I was going to get through it.
Shit on that though!! I can’t let some infection be the very thing that takes me down!
Not when my most important role on this earth is still so vital and important. That G, she might be growing up, but she’s still my baby girl!
Life is precious. I knew this, but now…
I KNOW THIS!
Thank you all again. The tears are streaming as I am reminded of the good that exists. Humbled does not even begin to describe the way your kindness has moved me.
Update on my Mom.
It’s Saturday and she is still in the hospital.
The first surgery that took place left her with about a 7 inch Incision, that’s about 6 inches deep. They scraped out all the dead tissue and purulent. Then they packed it.
She will go back to the OR to be sedated on Sunday, so that they may pull out all the old packing, scrape and clean again, then repack.
On Monday she’s scheduled to have another surgery to make another incision and treat it like the first. These incisions will need time to regenerate new healthy growth so that they can reconnect and the wounds can finally close on their own. She will probably be in the hospital for quite a bit more and then when released, she will have to attend a wound clinic to be taken care of.
She’s got a long journey ahead of her and not a very easy one. She is still in an enormous amount of pain.
She’s also still not really able to walk.
And her spirits aren’t the best right now.
We could use all the support, prayers, positive vibes, healing thoughts, love and good energy you could send our way.
So it was touch and go there for a bit. Mom became Sepsis. Her fever was a 105. It definitely was scary for us all. Still is. She did come through surgery (Thankfully) and the doctors are satisfied thus far. Back at the treat and wait game. Her liver is showing some bad signs so they did an ultrasound on it, and we are waiting on results. My mom is one tough woman and she’s putting up a good fight. I can tell she exhausted though and even scared. She’s just ready to be over it all. Unfortunately, her road to a complete recovery, is gonna take awhile. Her body has been through hell and it takes time for people to heal like they need to, in these types of medical situations.
Most recent update on mom. she is scheduled for emergency surgery tomorrow. Please, keep her in your thoughts. She could use all the positive thoughts and support you have.
Hi, my name is Gia, but my mom (Ashley) calls me G. She’s a single mom who takes care of us all on her own. She’s a really hard worker and does the job of pressure washing and cleaning windows, outside and inside of customers homes.
Here recently, she unfortunately picked up MRSA. It’s a very serious staph infection and it quickly took her down. Her having a compromised immune system doesn’t help. If you know my mom, you know she’s a fighter. And that’s exactly what she’s doing. Unfortunately it’s already had her down now for almost a week and it’s looking like she’s going to be sidelined for another couple weeks, if not more. MRSA is very hard to treat because of its ability to resist antibiotic therapy.
It’s at a stage where it’s taken over a large part of her leg/thigh area, and she’s barely able to walk.
I want her to be able to heal and do so without having to stress so badly. With bills coming in and her not being able to work, she’s not able to do that.
I’m reaching out to any of you that are able to and find it in your heart to donate.
It would mean the world to us and give her a chance to catch her breath and heal without the weight of the world sitting on her chest.
My mom is heading back to the hospital. The first round of antibiotic treatment isn’t working.
Update on my mom, they are keeping her in the hospital for a few days. She tested positive for sepsis, please send good vibes her way.
