Hi All,
So life sometimes hands you big lemons and you need help to make the lemonade.
In early Spring of this year I was diagnosed with end stage osteoarthritis in both hips.
It was painful but I could still manage to get around. I was told I needed both hips replaced but I needed to put the surgery off for a a year due to financial reasons.
I could no longer work at a super busy place like Sharky's, but I could still do my hot sauce
And I took a job in the summer in upstate NY at what I thought would be a slow enough restaurant that I could still manage.
Unfortunately about a month and a half ago my legs started gradually getting weaker, a separate issue from my hips.
Although always a big guy, I still like to do my three or four mile walks everyday.
And got to where I could only do 2 mi, then one and then not even one...
And then finally as of about 10 days ago I can't even walk a few ft and It's very painful even to stand and I need help sitting up in bed.
There are several things that could be causing it but they haven't found it yet.
I'm still in the hospital now since then.
However, very soon they are going to discharge me and unfortunately with getting rid of my apartment to take the job up here. which came with employee housing and is now gone, I have no place to go. Although they are trying to get me in a temporary spot which would only be for 7 days.
I have no money at all for housing etc.
I have insurance but no money to pay co-pays and deductibles.
I also have no funds for a place to stay at all when I leave here and then I'm still waiting to figure out what is next.
They say the first thing they will try is surgey on one of my hips. They have to to fix that they said before they can start to investigate on my spine.
It's going to be a long haul.
But they can't even schedule that for 90 days because I recently had a steroid shot in my hip and they cannot perform hip surgery within 90 days of a steroid injection.
So hard as it is to ask I could really use your help.
Thank you for whatever you are able to do!
And thank you for your moral support.
If you wouldn't mind sharing this GoFundMe I would appreciate it.
Andy
