Our names are Josiah Zavala and Kaity Rogers and This has to be the hardest thing I’ve ever written in my life. I honestly don’t even know where to start. Dec 10th… 8:13am, this is when we received news that devastated our world. Our boy, Thor would need to be put to sleep. I just wanted to take the time to tell you about him since he won’t make it to his first birthday.
He loved open fields, duck toys, running squirrels, huge cuddles, like suffocating amount of pressure cuddles, like to the point where he’d rather be inside your body rather than on you haha. He loved his cat siblings Mittens and Zeus. He’d chase them all the time. His favorite game was tug of war and his favorite toy was a duck, he had two but one obviously didn’t survive tug of war hahaha. He loved Snow Beef Wagu Steak (yes he was spoiled and I regret nothing), frozen Bone Marrows, and watermelons. He loved stretching as hard and as far as he could and with his long legs he has pushed me off the bed a few times haha. He also loved making sure his paw was on you, almost like he wanted you to know he was here or to know he was protecting you. He loved water! OH my gosh he loved water, he would see a bowl of water and splash it all around likes drummer with double paddles who was in some Norwegian Death Metal breakdown haha almost like if water wasn’t suppose to be in a water bowl hahaha. He’s also a fish… he drank like a camel…. He loved dog parks too, he made so many friends all the time! To the point where we knew when other owners schedules were just so we could make sure they played together. I swear it was like he had ADHD with meeting new people, if you weren’t active enough he’d just leave with no warning… you could see other dogs get confused like “hey weren’t we playing” and he’d be half way down the park by the time they noticed hahaha… OMG but when he found one that matched him, he loved to wrestle! He was a massive wrestler… rain or shine… we knew it was a great time when his white coat was dark brown from all the dirt hahaha or mud…
I’ve noticed this list isn’t just things he’s loved… but things I’m going to miss about him… ima miss him waiting by the door for us to come home… ima miss his lips flapping as he does a big exhale… ima miss his head tucked right in my throat… ima miss him wanting to wrestle at the most inconvenient of times haha… ima miss my boy, my son.
Not even one years old and you taught us more then you’ll know. You made us better parents, and better humans. You were a bundle of joy and way too damn smart for your own good… Thank you for loving us and entrusting us with your heart Thor. You will forever be our boy.
