Help displaced families in Afghanistan

Hi, my name is Fereshta and, just like many of you, I have been witnessing the situation in Afghanistan behind my phone screen.

According to the UN, approx 3.5 million Afghans have been internally displaced since mid July 2021 due to the violence and terrorism caused by the Taliban. Afghans all over the country have left their whole lives behind, barefooted, with nothing but hope in their hearts. All borders to neighbouring countries have recently closed, so the capital city Kabul (currently controlled by the government) is receiving overwhelming numbers of displaced families. Children, women, men and elderly sleep on the streets and lack basic necessities such as shelter, clothing and food. This will continue to increase day by day.

As a human, watching this from behind my screen made me feel powerless and hopeless. I didn't know what to do or how to help on my own being so far away. Since so many of you reached out to me as your Afghan friend, and asked how to donate, I decided to set up this fundraiser so we can all get together and do as little as we can from distance.

£1 is equivalent to 112 Afghanis - every £ makes a huge difference to those in need.

I will take personal responsibility to make sure every pence you donate will be delivered to the displaced families - all evidence will be collected and distributed to each one of you.
