We lost everything in a fire. my name is Jennifer Mcguire, I am a single mother of two pre-teens and a loving puppy (Domino) and in the past week we lost everything in a fire in our apartment.
Both my children, my dog, my family and myself have been in a great deal of shock, pain, tremendous loss, fear and suffering. On Friday November 20th, my brother had gone to walk my dog, as my mother had an appointment to take me to for my spinal cord injuries. At approximately 5pm brother left for work.
Moments after we received a call that there was a FIRE in my apartment, with my puppy Domino inside. My poor puppy Domino was removed from the apartment by a NY fireman, I've nicknamed St. Francis, our hero.
Domino's touch and go, he's considerably better than before, you stuck by his side, held him his side until he had steady breathe. I would like to thank the American Red Cross who showed up and gave us blankets, while my mother ran Domino to Bay Ridge Animal Hospital.
At the hospital, chest xrays were performed, his severe burns were treated and he but in a seeming state of shock. Domino was placed in an oxygen tank to try to reverse damage from smoke initialiation, he began having back to back grand mal seizures which increases the likelihood of braindamage. Domino's life is not guaranteed, in fact, far from it. We are all distraught and begging you keep us in your prayers.
It it was a total loss. My family lost everything, the entire apartment was damaged by the fire and what wasn't lost by fire, was damaged by water and smoke. We need your assistance to help rebuild our lives.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are grateful for lives and will continue to move forward. Thank you for your consideration.
