Jody’s Journey

If you know my mother you are well aware she is really something special. Funny, kind, selfless and proud. She has trouble asking for help but is the first to offer it. Now I am asking for a little help to help complete her journey.
 In October 2017 she was diagnosed with an early but aggressive form of breast cancer. She acted quickly, had a double mastectomy and had her breasts reconstructed six months later. During that time, my mom raised money for charities, started helping women that were diagnosed get through breast cancer with her honest,  manner while dealing with some very stressful situations in our home.

Recently I heard my mom talking to someone that was diagnosed with breast cancer. They asked her if it gets easier or if she thinks about breast cancer every day. My mom responded that it gets easier but because of the type of surgery she had she is reminded that she had breastcancer every day because when she looks in the mirror she sees nothing but scars. 

I want to help my my mom come full circle. To feel like herself again. To look in the mirror and see the proud beautful, strong inspiring woman that we all see. Next month she plans on going to Chicago to get her breasts tattooed by David Allen, an amazing artist that specializes in tattooing women who had breast cancer. After having two surgeries  medical bills are very high. I would love for my mom to go on this trip, complete her transformation and not worry about what it costs. Just to be able to truly enjoy herself and get to  end of her journey.
