Hi everyone. My name is Jubayer and I'm from Bangladesh. I never thought I would have to make one of these, but I honestly don't have any other options left.

​My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023. My dad was the only one earning, and all his money went to running our family and paying for her treatments. To help out, I used to work part-time as a freelance digital marketer. Whatever money I made, I spent on my own and my little sister's education, and gave the rest for my mom's hospital bills.

​By July 2024, after 8 rounds of chemo, she had her first surgery. We spent every single money we had saved. We took loans from relatives. But we were happy because she was still with us.

​Then, in September 2025, things got really bad. The cancer spread to her brain. The doctors said another surgery might give her a little more time. We were completely broke. To help pay for the surgery, I sold the only thing I had left to make a living—my work laptop. My income completely stopped.

​Even after everything, she didn't make it. She passed away on October 27, 2025. It broke our family, especially my dad. Somehow, through all this crying and hospital visits, I kept studying and managed to pass my high school (HSC) exams.

​Now it's time for university admission, but my family has zero money. Relatives are telling me to quit studying and get a daily job to support the family. But getting a normal job here without a degree is incredibly hard. And without a laptop, I can't even go back to my freelance digital marketing work.

​An old client of mine recently helped me buy a cheap phone and told me to try GoFundMe. He said there are good people out there who might help. So here I am.

​What I need:

​University Admission & 1st Semester fee: 53,600 BDT (Around £385 / $490)

​A secondhand laptop: 20,000 - 30,000 BDT (Around £145 - £215 / $180 - $275)

​I just want to study and work again. A basic secondhand laptop it’s my only way to survive. If I can get a laptop, I can start offering digital marketing services again, pay for the rest of my degree myself, and support my little sister.
