Loving Louie
Louie, saved from the streets and adopted as a puppy, was recently diagnosed as having a large mass in his abdomen - about 5 inches in diameter.
Louie, barely one years old, a nature lover and training to be a therapy dog, was suffering. The mass was impacting the function of his spleen and left kidney. Louie’s person, Phoebe, had two options— and she tried to save him. The Dr’s took Louie into exploratory surgery to attempt to remove, or drain, the unknown mass; sadly, Phoebe received a call when they were about half way through. They let her know it was time to come back and say goodbye.
Phoebe had purchased pet insurance, but when she arrived at the clinic —just before they euthanized Louie— she was informed she still owed over $6,000. Her original quote did not include such extensive costs, and she never imagined this kind of a bill, let alone loosing her puppy to a rare condition.
Phoebe’s generosity, her spirit and kindness, and her love for animals, are something we all know so well. Right now, her heart is cracked open. Let’s help Phoebe, so that she can grieve and recover without experiencing such financial hardship.
She’d do the same for anyone she knew.
We love you, Phoebe.
