Our mom, Sandy, has always been the kind of person who puts others before herself, a true angel on earth. For almost 30 years she’s worked as a dedicated aid, caring for children with patience, love, and kindness. She’s been a source of strength for our family and a bright light in the community, and the very first to help when someone needed it.

But now it’s time to turn our support to her!

The Battle She’s Facing: 

• Sandy has been fighting a rare form of thyroid cancer that has spread throughout her body for almost 6 years now. 
• She has been on an oral chemo everyday for nearly five years.  
• The chemo has caused serious side effects, leading to more health complications. 
• She now takes multiple medications to manage the side effects of treatment.
• As I’m typing this, she was just in the hospital due to kidney failure from her ongoing chemo. 

Specialized Care & Ongoing Challenges:  

• She sees a specialist in Baltimore, requiring frequent trips and added expenses. 
• Her chemo and medications leave her exhausted and sick most days, making it impossible for her to work anymore.
• Medical bills are piling up, and the financial strain is growing every day.
