Save our Frenchie

My Names Cody, My Fur baby Ada is a week in on her stay at the vets. Last Friday we had to have our American bull dog Ty to sleep. A hour after Ada collapsed she lost use of her legs, she wet herself, her eyes started to shake and she was vommiting. She was kept in until Sunday and sent home with the medication to help clear up the infection for what they believe to be was her ear drum ruptured and an infection. She has suffered with her ears for the past 4 years. We’ve had to endure 3 operations for reoccurring haematomas and re occurring ear infections. Ada still hasn’t eaten since last week. She went back in Tuesday and she’s since had a xray and feeding tube fitted because she won’t eat. She brought back up what was put in the tube unfortunately the first night.

The options that have been given are a CT scan which alone costs around 3-4K. To try figure what’s going on if something is also occurring in the brain.

And the removal of her ear canals is the only option moving forward with her ears which we are estimated 6k for both as this a specialist referral and need to do both to avoid any future problems. The vet is confident this will resolve the issues she is facing. She also has Gastroenteritis. She’s had issues with both her ears for 4 years now and her ear canals have now narrowed so much that it’s deeper than anybody can see or treat. She has managed to keep the food down she’s had in the last 24 hours via her feeding tube . Her insurance covers her for 6k. Her current bill is 3.5k and rising every day. I’m half expecting the insurance company to try void paying out because of her having had issues with her ears previously.

But the ear canal removal won’t be covered via insurance. We simply don’t have the finances free to cover the costs ahead.

The vets already discussed the option of putting her to sleep.

We have a 18 month old baby, we just lost our eldest fur baby last week and we’ve moved house in the last 4 weeks. This is the final step to save our girl because the reality is we wouldn’t be able to put her through any of this giving us only 6 short years together.
