13.1 for the Jack Mattsson Foundation (JMF)

Donation protected
Jack, born in the Bronx and raised in Glen Rock, NJ, was a 19 year old college student who had just finished his freshman year when he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, an aggressive and rare bone cancer. Jack passed away October 2017 after a 16 month battle, one month short of his 21st birthday.

The loss of Jack has left a large hole in our tight knit friend group that will never be replaced. But, due to the work of The Mattsson family and their creation of the Jack Mattsson Foundation, there are tons of ways to celebrate and remember the amazing life he lived. I commend and thank the Mattsson’s for all they have done for our friends without them even knowing. Whether it’s hosting us for holidays or sending a quick text to check in they have gone above and beyond to keep me and my friends close to their family. They are the main link that keeps us to Jack and are some of the most amazing people I know!

To honor one of the best friends I’ve ever known and his family, I am excited to run the United Airlines Half Marathon in support of the Jack Mattsson Foundation. I know that Jack is looking down on me thinking I’m insane to run 13.1 miles but is loving the fact it’s for him.

No donation and is too small and all will go to the foundations mission to:
• Fund cancer research for Sarcomas, especially Osteosarcoma
• Provide financial support to patients and families
• Support anti-bullying programs in schools

Thank you all in advance- training has started and I am ready to go! 13.1 for JMF

The half marathon is Sunday, March 19th
