Broken Leg and Medical Bills
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Supporters,
For those who know Steve, it's no secret that he took an early retirement to care for his aging aunt and mother, sparing them from the prospect of a nursing home. While we've maintained a level of privacy around our situation, the financial strain has proven to be quite challenging as it’s an unpaid, and mostly thankless job.
In the past two years, Steve has faced not one but two life-saving emergency surgeries, and the accumulated medical bills have become a significant burden. Despite our best efforts, we've only scratched the surface of these expenses.
Recently, Steve donated his time and musical talent to a benefit/memorial event. However, a twist of fate occurred when he was unloading his equipment at home, resulting in a broken leg. Surgery is next week, once the swelling subsides, rendering him unable to perform and earn. Compounding the issue is the exorbitant cost of our health insurance, with sky-high premiums and an overwhelming deductible.
This situation leaves us in a precarious position, as Steve won't be able to fulfill his caregiving duties for our family members, and I find myself grappling with both financial debt and increased responsibilities. Over the last 17 years, I've witnessed my husband selflessly contribute his time to numerous fundraisers, memorials, and benefits. Now, it's our turn to humbly ask for assistance.
We understand that these are tough times, and finances are tight for many. Your support, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference as we navigate this challenging chapter. Thank you for considering helping us in our time of need.
With gratitude,
