Dennis' Fight Cancer Fund
Spende geschützt
It's always a shock when you hear that a family member has been diagnosed with a life changing disease. My Uncle Dennis has always been a positive male role model to me, something that I didn't have a whole lot of while I was growing up. I could always count on him telling me how proud he was of my achievements, as well as cooking up some delicious foods for any holiday event! The news of his cancer diagnosis has been shocking to all that know him.
Uncle Dennis has been fighting this disease with everything he has since he was given the news. The whole family continues to say "We WILL beat this", no matter the hurdles he has faced. And it has been many. Starting in September of 2015 Dennis had to take a leave of absence from his job, leaving my Auntie Jo (JoAnne) as the sole breadwinner for the family. We thought he had been turning a corner for the better, however, when he went in for a surgery in January of 2016 it was found that the cancer had spread to his outside intestinal walls.
To help with his rehibilitation, JoAnne immediately took FMLA time, leaving her without pay for 6 weeks. She is currently working 15 hours a weeks so that she can stay with Dennis, as he is in the hospital due to complications that have arisen recently. We're hoping he will be able to go home soon, but it is left up in the air everyday. Paying the bills is a daily struggle. Doctor bills are extremely high for cancer patients, and with her shortened hours, she is not able to meet the needs for her family. We are reaching out to all of Dennis and JoAnne's friends and family to ask if you can help out in any way that you can. Uncle Dennis WILL beat this disease, he just needs the love and help from those around him to jump one last hurdle.
