This fundraiser is to help support Alex Jones and his family financially while he receives proton radiation. Alex will receive radiation Monday - Friday for 5 weeks in Loma Linda. The family will be traveling back and forth, returning home to Clovis on the weekends. Their hotel, food, and gas expenses are all out of pocket. They appreciate your generosity and prayers. Below is Alex’a story.
I am a 2021 graduate of Buchanan High School. I love science and running track. I was half way through my last semester at Clovis Community College ready to accept my transfer to UC Irvine’s Aerospace Engineering Program when I started waking up with swelling in my face. My life changed forever on March 21, 2023. That was the night I was told I had cancer. I had a large mass in my chest compressing my heart, lungs and trachea. I was too sick to have it biopsied initially. A week later it was confirmed to be a rare form of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma called Primary Mediastinal B-Cell Lymphoma. I had to decline my acceptance to UCI. I endured 6 rounds of chemotherapy only to find out I didn’t get complete remission. I am now receiving Proton Radiation Therapy at Loma Linda University Hospital. I am grateful for the support of my family, friends and doctors at Valley Children’s Hospital. I am also grateful for this cancer warrior family I have found. Thank you
