GoldenBurmaCafe: Burma Flood Relief

Over the past three summers, Golden Burma Cafe at Ricefields--a Rustic Pathways Project in Udon Thani, Thailand headed by Hannah Sachs and Team Burma--has been raising money for two orphaned students in Shan State Burma. This year, we reached our fundraising goal for our students and are shifting gears...

In Myanmar/Burma, the flooding this past month has directly affected over 200,000 people in 12 out of the 14 states and divisions in the country. There are over 30 reported deaths. As the water levels continue to rise, more and more people are displaced, including many already-marginalized ethnic and religious populations throughout the country. Members of Team Burma are also affected; their hometowns are in flood areas and some believe their families will have to relocate within the next week until the end of the rainy season. Therefore, all further Golden Burma Cafe proceeds and donations will go directly to flood relief. Burma Country Manager, Ko Chit Oo, is spearheading donations and relief work with local Burmese organizations and within Rustic Pathways Team Burma. All money will go directly to him and be used at his and Team Burma's discretion.

If you have any further questions, please contact Hannah, who is organizing this campaign and has been managing the Golden Burma Cafe and its finances since 2013.
