Shane Needs Help to Win His Toughest Battle with Cancer

This is a picture of a great friend, Shane Pallister, that I took in Mongolia in September of 2024. Little did we know it would be symbolic of the weight crushing him now. Shane has Stage 4 cancer, and this campaign will hopefully generate the funds needed to save his life.

But this is not Shane’s first cancer battle. He was diagnosed with nerve cancer as an infant. The tumor was removed but regrew, requiring radiation and another surgery at the age of 3. He underwent spinal reconstruction surgery at 16, requiring traction for 18 months and a body cast for a year. He has persevered through life with severe scoliosis, kyphosis, arthritis of the spine, and disc degenerative disorder.

This noble cancer warrior exemplifies the best version of humanity – always a giver, uniquely authentic, and someone who lives life with a burning spirit and grace.

As an outdoorsman and conservationist, Shane faces his most difficult climb. Based on discussions with the New Patient Center at MD Anderson and the cost estimating tools available through the Mayo Clinic, the funding goal supports biopsies, hospitalization, treatment modalities, transportation, car rental, lodging, and meals while at Anderson.
