Hi, my name is Stephanie Devlin and I am raising funds for a friend whose son was involved in a motorbike accident which has affected all the families lives both emotionally and financially. Here is his story.

On the 6th of November 2025, our lives changed forever.

Our son Jack, just 18 years old at the time, was involved in a serious road traffic accident while riding his motorcycle. What should have been an ordinary trip turned into a life-altering tragedy.

Jack spent five days in intensive care fighting to survive. He then underwent an eight-hour surgery where two metal plates were fitted to stabilise his back. Despite the incredible efforts of the medical team, Jack sustained a severe spinal cord injury and is now paralysed from the chest down. We have been told he will never walk again.

Jack spent seven long weeks in the spinal unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital, and 7 weeks in Musgrave park hospital, beginning the overwhelming journey of rehabilitation and learning how to adapt to a completely new way of life.

Before the accident, Jack was an active, independent teenager who loved being on the road and making trips to Newcastle. He lived life at full speed — always out with friends, always planning his next drive, always moving. That independence was everything to him.

Now, at just 19 years old, he is facing challenges no young person should have to face.

As a family, we are doing everything we can to support Jack through his recovery.
