Hi, my name is Stacie and I'm the youngest of the Keil girls. My sisters and I are humbly reaching out on our mom's behalf. She doesn't know we're setting this up (she would never want to ask or burden anyone), but we/she could really use your help. On New Year's Eve, our Mom's house flooded. Like flooded flooded. Water was 1-1.5 ft throughout her house, so you can imagine the loss she has endured. She lost almost everything. Anything that touched the ground is a loss. I encourage you to take a look around your house and see what's on the floor. Now imagine that all gone... Couches, beds, chairs, hutches, book shelves, shoes, any wiring to electronics (cpap machine), under the bed memorabilia, everything. Gone. When she went to file a claim, she found out that her insurance company, who she's been with for over a decade, didn't cover flood insurance when she moved to this location. They also did not tell her this, so she was in the (literal) dark. There will be no reimbursement for losses for our mom. And on top of that, her landlords (understandably) are done with the flooding and once they have fixed her space, are going to sell. Once it's fixed, she has no home to go back to.

We don't know where she will move or what the future holds. She and Tucker, her cat, are safe and that is really all that matters. But the future is scary. The rent in this county is so insane, but she also has to replace everything. Between her necessary medical devices and furniture and, and, and... we just don't know what to do. So we humbly come here to ask for help. We know she has touched lives throughout this community for years, from raising my sisters and I and all our friends, to cheering on sports teams throughout the 90's, to reading to your children as the librarian at SLE for 25 years.
