Reasons to Stay — Music Video by Catie Waters

Donation protected
Catie Waters has been making waves in the R&B and Jazz world.
With her forthcoming album ‘Reasons to Stay’ Catie will bring a new world to her audience. Come with us on a space odyssey through time. This is ‘Reasons to Stay.’

Reasons to Stay will be my most ambitious project to date. I aim to bring to life a world of sci-fi, colorful planets, a mysterious astronaut, cornfield abductions, bold cinematic choices, with a powerful lyrical story in the foreground. This is a story of mental health, overcoming adversity and becoming your own hero.

Each scene will feel cinematic and larger than life. This is a once and a lifetime journey through space.

Logline:
Lonely lost girl embarks upon a space odyssey through time that leads her to find her Reasons to Stay.

Synopsis:
This is a story about mental health. As a child, I would keep a list entitled “Reasons to Stay” in my pocket and I would carry it with me always. I would write down everything I loved most about the world and the people who I felt depended on me. They became my reasons to stay and tethered me to earth. Like lighthouses or shining planets, they always guided me home when I felt lost. This story is to uplift those who are still in their darkest night searching for a glimpse of the stars. I hope they can make their own lists and inspire them to find their own reasons to stay.

Our fundraising goal will cover pre-production, production, post-production, as well as any marketing or promotional costs needed after final delivery. These include categories such as crew, gear rental, transportation, costumed and set design, and insurance and film permits.

Format:
Approximately 5-min music video (short film.) Catie will perform and find her Reasons to Stay in this story.

We’ll touch on mental health, traumas, facing your greatest adversities, becoming your own hero, finding peace and resolution. We hope you the audience will draw your own conclusions and find your reasons to stay.

About us:

CATIE WATERS - THE ARTIST

For those of you who don’t know me, allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Catie Waters and I am a ASCAP winning Billboard charting R&B/Soul Jazz Musician. Music is my life and passion. Growing up in Arkansas and Texas, I always had big dreams and steadily picked up learning jazz, music theory, songwriting and performing. I’m a voracious reader and have always had a love for learning. I come from a family of story tellers. I think storytelling is one of the most important things I do. It’s how I connect, give voice and light to people around the world. If I can make a difference and help one person, then I’ve done my job. Surreal connection is the greatest honor for me as a musician. I hope to continue my journey and become a connecting point that gives joy to the world.
