Grace Thomas & her son Earle are a St Monica School family who are facing an unimaginable health crisis that has put them in financial and emotional crisis. Earle is a student at St Monica in Anne Betts 4th Grade class, and Grace is a single mother, raising Earle on her own… So there is no one to rely on as she goes through this significant health crisis, besides, for the help of her community, her church and our school families. We are reaching out to our close knit community to buoy their little family during a devastating time, and to encourage and allow Grace to seek treatment. Please consider donating to this go fund me; it would mean so much to alleviate the burdens that both Earle and Grace have ahead of them, and every dollar will go towards medical expenses, the ongoing care of Earle, and some experiences for them to share while they still have time.
This fall Grace was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of sarcoma (Retroperitoneal Leiomyosarcoma). Making this devastating diagnosis even more difficult, the tumor has developed on her Inferior vena cava, which is a major vein that collects blood from the lower half of the body to the heart for oxygenation. Her oncologist and doctors in Seattle are offering her no solutions. She has found an oncologic surgeon associated with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City that is willing to operate on Grace & this aggressive cancer, if insurance cooperates, to give her a chance at additional time with her beloved son, Earle.
There is a considerable expense associated with this risky procedure as she will likely have to stay in New York City for several months, recovering under the care of her physicians in addition to co-pays, medical costs, travel expenses, living expenses, care for Earle, and incidentals. This has become an insurmountable number for Grace to achieve on her own as a single Mom.
If surgery is not possible, funds will assist Grace with medical expenses to keep her comfortable and prolong her life as well as support her relationship with Earle and his care.
Please consider donating to Grace and Earle Thomas, so they have one less thing to worry about as Grace fights for more time with her precious son. We will update you along Grace’s treatment path as she is working on establishing a CaringBridge page and are grateful for your care and concern. Please pray for Grace Thomas and her son Earle!
