Caring Nurse Needs Our Help
Donation protected
As most of you may have heard on the news and social media on January 21st a young woman was out side of her home shovelling snow and ended up being hit by a car. This young woman, Samantha Schuit is our dear friend and fellow nurse at Lee Manor. Sam has sustained extensive injuries including multiple pelvic fractures. Sam and her partner Jack are also expecting their first child in May. Sam was transferred to Victoria Hospital the night of the accident but has been since transferred back to Owen Sound to continue to monitor the baby and in time start rehabilitation. There is no discharge plans in sight at this time. It is very unlikely that Sam will be able to return to work before going on maternity leave. Sam is a hard working, caring nurse who has put in countless hours at Lee Manor and had plans to work right up until her due date. This unexpected accident comes with a huge financial burden, with not only Sam not being able to work but with Jack needing time off to support her as well. With the unknown length of recovery time and all of the added extra unexpected expenses, Sam, Jack and their soon to arrive new baby could really use our help.
