Dreams Come True

I have never met a person with such strength and kindness as Sheryl Hambrick Aucoin. Growing up she helped me through very dark days and I have never forgotten that. For some reason only known to God so often the good people leave us far too soon. While Sheryl has not yet left us, her time left is unknown. After fighting and surviving breast cancer, in July of 2019 Sheryl was told her cancer had returned in her spine. Her cancer is Stage 4 and terminal. While she receives treatment it is only to try to extend what is inevitable. Sheryl is not only a fighter and survivor she is a widow. She lost her husband and son’s father to cancer while fighting her own battle with breast cancer. Sheryl’s son, Aydin, was only 16 months old at the time. He is 6 now and she doesn’t know how many more birthdays she will be here for. Sheryl never asks for anything but I think it’s time she receives a blessing. In December she has the opportunity to go to bring Aydin to Disney World. This may be the last trip she is able to take with him and it should be full of the most amazing memories. Anything not spent on Disney Sheryl intends to donate to the breast cancer center, she says without them she’s not sure she could have made it through because the women at Slidell Memorial Hospital Cancer Center are beyond angels in her life!
