Our WOWS Kids Fiji 2019 Shave or Save Campaign (SOS) is being championed by Fiji Member of Parliament the Hon. Lenora Qereqeretabua in support of the child cancer support work carried out by WOWS Kids Fiji.
Lenora has pledged to raise support and awareness for WOWS Kids Fiji through the 2019 Shave or Save Campaign. When asked earlier this year to champion the cause she did not hesitate to do so and to possibly shave her signature buiniga come September 14th.
WOWS Kids Fiji is a Non-Profit organisation that has been providing support for children with cancer in Fiji and their families in their cancer journey for the last ten years. The Shave or Save Campaign is one of the main fundraising events held annually.
WOWS Kids Fiji works closely with the staff of the two Paediatric Oncology Units in Fiji based at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH) in Suva and Lautoka Hospital.
The support and work done by WOWS Kids Fiji includes the following:
· Creating awareness on the Early Warning Signs of Cancer
· Equipping and or facilitating the equipping of Oncology Units
· Monthly Family days and Birthday celebrations
· Palliative Care Support
· Financial support for treatment, transportation, medication and diagnostic tests, and when needed shopping and phone vouchers and accommodation, overseas treatment and funeral expenses.
· Facilitate counselling services, financial literacy, nutrition and back to school programs.
