Lisa needs your help!

Hi, my name is Robert St.Onge, I am the husband of Lisa Paillé.
I didn’t anticipate having to write this, but unfortunate circumstances have come about.
Lisa has been struggling for years with her health. She was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at a very young age. At the age of 19, she had to undergo major surgery to remove her entire large colon and ended with an ileostomy bag for a year. She was able to have the surgery reversed and a j-pouch installed.
Complications of that procedure were noticed and in 2018 another surgery was required. That is when we noticed her gut health starting to deteriorate.
After several attempts at IV infusions, and other treatments, it was determined that another surgery was the only option. In November of last year, Lisa had to stop working. On January 25th, 2024, she went in for open abdominal surgery to remove the j-pouch (small intestine). Unfortunately, surgery ended up being more complicated due to a large amount of scar tissue from her past surgeries, which they had to remove. The surgeons had to remove parts of her uterus and vagina that scar tissue was attached too. There were several complications post-surgery which led her to be in the hospital until February 29th. She will have an ileostomy bag for the rest of her life. This has been difficult for her, but she is keeping her spirits up and is continuing to fight! This is a positive direction towards a better quality of life in the long run.
The reason for the GoFundMe is due to her insurance. With her condition, Lisa is uninsurable. That aside, due to unforeseen circumstances, we got news last week that Lisa’s EI-sick benefits were declined. We are now approaching month 5 without any financial support on Lisa’s end. We expect her recovery to take another month or two, which means no income for a little longer.
It’s with the humblest of hearts that I reach out to those who have the ability to help. We are going through a difficult time financially, and we could use some support to recover from the last several months. We’ve always done our best to support ourselves, but at this time we need some assistance.
I want to thank everyone in advance for your help and kind words while we navigate this new chapter.
Thank you very much.
